Alabama State University belted a season-high six home runs to power past Jackson State University 24-7 on Friday at the Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex.
Corey King and Randy Flores combined for three home runs and 14 RBI. King was 4-for-5 with two-three-run home runs and seven RBI while Flores was 3-for-3 with a triple, a home run, and seven RBI.
Jackson State got out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning after Jatavious Melton drove in the first run and Marcus Atterberry singled home two more.
Randy Flores tied the game with bases loaded triple and later scored on a wild pitch to give the Hornets a 4-3 lead after two innings.

The Hornets put up six runs in the third inning to build their lead to 10-3. Flores and King each had three-run home runs to highlight the inning.
Eight runs crossed in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 18-3. King had a three-run home run and an RBI single, and Kyler McIntosh belted a three-run homer.
Ali Lapresd got in on the home run parade with a three-run home run as part of a five-run fifth inning to extend the lead to 23-3.
Jamal George’s solo home run gave the Hornets a 24-3 lead in the sixth.
On the mound, Omar Meledez (7-0) posted five strikeouts and gave up three runs on six hits to earn the win.
Coby Guy (3-2) allowed 13 runs on 12 hits to take the loss for Jackson State.
