The State Fair Classic football game featuring Grambling State and Prairie View A&M has been postponed and moved to a new venue.
Originally scheduled to be played this Saturday at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Grambling State announced Monday the contest will instead be played on March 13 at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas.
Moving the game became necessary after officials indicated that last week’s winter storm, which crippled the entire state of Texas for nearly a week, caused “significant” damage to the Cotton Bowl after a frozen pipe burst.

Globe Life Park is an outdoor venue that was the Texas Rangers’ former home before the team recently moved to its current indoor venue, Globe Life Field. It was also the home of the Dallas Renegades football team of the XFL before the league permanently shut down due to COVID-19.
The game’s relocation to Globe Life Park will make it one of two SWAC football games scheduled to be hosted by the venue. In January, Southern University announced that its October 9 football game against Texas Southern would also be played at the Arlington venue.
