After each major Division I and Division II HBCU conference canceled the 2020 fall football season due to coronavirus concerns and several schools chose to opt-out of the upcoming spring season, the latest edition of the HBCU Sports Ultimate Football Poll is going to look a bit different.

Heading into the 2021 (spring) season, arguably the two best teams in Black college football over the last half-decade — Alcorn State and North Carolina A&T — will not compete until the fall. That leaves opportunities for new favorites to emerge in what will be an unprecedented season.

With that, we present our preseason poll.

1. Southern
2. Alabama A&M
3. Grambling State
4. Alabama State
5. Jackson State
6. South Carolina State
7. Prairie View
8. Langston
9. Arkansas-Pine Bluff
10. Howard
