TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida A&M University Athletics will begin a search for a new women’s basketball head coach, as Kevin Lynum will not return, as announced Wednesday by FAMU Vice President & Director of Athletics, Kortne Gosha.

“We thank Kevin and his staff for their hard work and wish them well in all of their future endeavors.”

Lynum became the head coach of the women’s basketball program at FAMU in August 2019.

Previously, Lynum joined the FAMU women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in 2018. He was named the interim head coach of the women’s basketball program in February 2019 before becoming the permanent head coach.

The team finished the 2019-20 season with a record of 6-21.

FAMU Athletics will begin a search immediately.
