BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- Alabama A&M’s Aqeel Glass and Abdul-Fatai Ibrahim, along with Alcorn State’s Soloman Muhammad and Grambling State’s Miguel Mendez were all named Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Football Players of the Week in week eleven of the season for their outstanding play the league announced on Monday.

Aqeel Glass, Jr. (6-4, 215, Jr., QB, St. Louis, Mo.)
The junior quarterback passed for a season-high 410 yards and four touchdowns while breaking two Alabama A&M records in a 48-43 win against Jackson State. Glass completed 25-of-40 attempts while throwing touchdown passes of 13, 14, 52 and 32 yards. Glass also set new AAMU single-season records for touchdown passes (previous 26, now 29) and passing yards (previous 2,886, now 3,064).

Soloman Muhammad (6-1, 235, LB, Sr., Birmingham, Ala.)
Muhammad wrapped up a game-high 14 tackles, 2.0 tackles for a loss, a sack and a broke up pass against Grambling State.

Miguel Mendez (5-10, 180, Gr., K, Gonzales, Calif.)
Mendez’s two field goals (32, 45 yards) ended up being the difference on the game as the Tigers edged Alcorn State 19-16 in overtime.

Abdul-Fatai Ibrahim (6-1, 190, Fr., WR, Mirimar, Fla.)
The freshman receiver finished with a season-high 210 receiving yards and two touchdowns on nine catches in a 48-43 win against Jackson State. Ibrahim caught touchdown passes of 52 and 14 yards.
