OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK
#78 Donald Boone, Chowan
(Sr, OL – Duluth, GA)

The All-American left tackle helped pave the way for a program-best 418 rushing yards and 677 yards of total offense. The Duluth, GA native was a key cog in a Chowan offense that scored 10 touchdowns (7 passing, 3 rushing) in their 70-16 win over Alderson Broaddus.

QUARTERBACK OF THE WEEK
#18 Bryce Witt, Chowan
(Jr, QB – Sutherland, VA)

Witt threw a school-record seven touchdown passes and added a rushing touchdown in the Hawks 70-16 win over Alderson Broaddus. The junior quarterback completed 14-of-22 passes for 289 yards and rushed for 70 yards on seven carries, averaging 10 yards per carry.

RECEIVER OF THE WEEK
#15 Imeek Watkins, Chowan
(Jr, WR – Wilmington, NC)

Watkins hauled in seven catches for 185 yards, including a long of 75 yards, and a school-record five touchdowns in the Hawks 70-16 win over Alderson Broaddus. The junior also added 28 yards on three punt returns with a long of 18 yards.

OFFENSIVE BACK OF THE WEEK
#5 Emanuel Wilson, Johnson C. Smith
(So, RB – Charlotte, NC)

Wilson had 12 carries for 265 yards, averaging an impressive 22.1 yards per carry, and three touchdowns. The sophomore from Charlotte, NC had touchdown runs of 83, 73, and 64 yards to help lead the Golden Bulls to a 34-31 win over Benedict.

FOOD LION DEFENSIVE BACK OF THE WEEK
#28 Camerron Ellis, Johnson C. Smith
(RS Jr, DB – Palm Harbor, FL)

Ellis picked off two passes for the Golden Bulls defense, including a game-clinching interception with less than two minutes to play. The Palm Harbor, FL native also had two total tackles in JCSU’s 34-31 road win over Benedict.

FOOD LION LINEBACKER OF THE WEEK
#1 Nigel Peele, Fayetteville State
(Jr, LB – Greensboro, NC)

Peele totaled eight tackles, including a team-high 5 solos. The junior also recorded an interception and returned it 58 yards for a touchdown, registering the Broncos third defensive touchdown this season.

FOOD LION DEFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK
#55 Joshua Pryor, Bowie State
(RS So, DL – Baltimore, MD)

Pryor was second on the Bowie State defense with eight tackles, including three solo tackles and two tackles for loss. The sophomore defender had key stops late in the fourth quarter to help aid in the Bulldogs comeback win over Shaw, 26-21.

FOOD LION SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
#88 Damon Rice, Johnson C. Smith
(So, WR – Camden, NJ)

Rice was electric in the return game with two kick returns for touchdowns of 90 and 85 yards. The Camden, NJ native finished with 175 return yards in the Golden Bulls 34-31 win over Benedict.

FOOD LION ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
#52 Colby Scott, Chowan
(Fr, LB – Burlington, NC)

Scott led the Hawks defense with 10 total tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss. The Burlington, NC native also registered a QB hurry in Chowan’s 70-16 win over Alderson Broaddus.
