With all of the college football preseason polls, predictions, projections and prognostications well underway, we turn our attention to one critical element of the HBCU sports world … marching bands.

North Carolina A&T, voted HBCU Sports Band of the Year for the second consecutive year (2017 and 2018), begins the 2019 season in the No. 1 spot.

Jackson State, Southern, Norfolk State, and Tennessee State round up the top five, followed by the rest of the list that includes some schools that may surprise some.

HBCU Sports presents its 5th annual preseason top 15 band poll for 2019.

This is all bogus to me. What criteria do you have to rank these bands. Most any of them have done this far besides band camp is MAYBE a few performances. My opinion is this list is published to get “a rise” out of the band geeks and add ratings to your website.

World fame (GSU) do not need any list to define them.

I am sorry. One considers them conservative but FAMU marching 100 is still the best.
