Jackson State’s Sonic Boom of the South and North Carolina A&T’s Blue and Gold Marching Machine were named the two finalists for HBCU Sports’ Band of the Year Award on Monday.
The announcement was made via Twitter.

The announcement marks the third consecutive year the two HBCU marching bands have been named finalists for the award and the second straight year both bands were named finalists in a field of only two.
The winner will be determined by votes tabulated from our audience in a poll that will begin Tuesday and run through Monday, Jan 21.
