Five home games – including match-ups with reigning Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champions Tuskegee, homecoming foe Benedict, and Atlanta University Center rival Morehouse – highlight the 2018 Clark Atlanta University football schedule, which was announced Tuesday.
“Releasing the schedule as early as possible gives our alumni and supporters an opportunity to make their plans,” said Clark Atlanta University Athletic Director J Lin Dawson. “Over the last two years, the steady growth in game attendance mirrors the excitement and expectation for a successful football program.”
The Panthers open the season on August 30 in Clinton, Mississippi against Mississippi College, and then visit Central State on Sept. 8. CAU defeated both of those teams at home last season.
Clark Atlanta hosts Tuskegee University in the home opener at CAU Panther Stadium is on Sept. 15, followed by a visit two weeks later from Allen University on Sept. 29.
This year’s homecoming opponent will be Benedict College on Oct. 13, followed by an Oct. 27 visit by Miles College, and then the huge regular season-ending home game against Morehouse on Nov. 5.
CAU also has road games at FCS-Division I Kennesaw State University of the Big South Conference, Fort Valley State and Albany State.
