Defensively, Jalyn Williams and DeVohn Reed each recorded a sack, and Will Skinner made an interception.
“I did a poor job of getting the guys ready to play,” said Prairie View A&M head coach Willie Simmons. “From the very beginning, they came out flat. In our first road game in a hostile environment, you want to come out fast and we didn’t. As the head coach, I have to figure out what we need to do better as coaches to make sure the guys ready to play physically and mentally. We’re not going to beat good teams when we execute the way we did tonight.”
The Panthers will open Southwestern Athletic Conference play at Alabama State at 7 p.m. The radio broadcast on the PVAMU Sports Network and Synergy Radio 1480 AM / 95.3 FM will begin at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast on satellite radio, with channels to be announced next week.
