The Howard University football team is the sports nation’s talk of the moment.

Howard’s 43-40 upset over FBS member UNLV Saturday night, according to experts, is the biggest point-spread upset in college football history after entering the contest a 45-point underdog.

The Bison, opening the season under new head coach Mike London (former head coach at Virginia) and freshman quarterback Caylin Newton (younger brother of Cam Newton), were picked to finish ninth in the conference.

UNLV paid Howard a $600,000 guarantee.
