BALTIMORE, Md. – Andrew Magee has been named Director of Academics for the Morgan State football program as announced by Director of Athletics Edward Scott. Magee joins the Bears after spending the past two years in College Station, Texas as a member of Texas A&M Athletics.

“We are excited to have Andy join the Morgan State family,” said Scott. “His experience as a student-athlete, coupled with his professional experience at Texas A&M will be a tremendous asset for our athletics department.”

“Andy has a true passion for working with student-athletes and will play an integral role in shaping the academic culture of our football program.”

During his time as an academic mentor, Magee guided Aggie student-athletes to success in the classroom and in their post-athletic professional careers.

Magee participated in football recruiting events for prospective student-athletes as well as a gameday outreach program to provide campus leaders insight into Texas A&M football operations.

While in College Station, Magee earned his Master’s degree in Public Administration with concentrations in Education Policy and Management as well as State and Local Government from The Bush School of Government and Public Service, where he was awarded The Dean’s Certificate of Leadership.

A former two-sport student-athlete, Magee earned his Bachelor’s degree in English and was most notably a two-year letter winner as a fullback for the UCLA Bruins and a member of the 2009 Eagle Bank Bowl Championship team.

During his time as a student-athlete, Magee achieved Academic All Conference Honors, Dean’s List recognition, and was a member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

Magee is an active participant in the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics and resides in Greenbelt, Maryland.
