Texas Southern released its 2017 football schedule earlier this week.

The Tigers, who ended their 2016 campaign with a 4-7 record under first-year head coach Michael Haywood, will begin the 2017 season on the road in Tallahassee, Fla. against Florida A&M on Aug. 26. [easyazon_infoblock align=”right” cart=”y” identifier=”B005WU5EEA” locale=”US” tag=”hbcusports-20″]

A two-game home stand will begin the following week (Sept. 2) when the Tigers host Prairie View A&M in the annual Labor Day Classic, followed by a Sept. 7 matchup against Houston Baptist.

Texas Southern will resume conference play the following week when the team travels to Huntsville, Ala. to face Alabama A&M on Sept. 23 before hosting SWAC member Alcorn State on Sept. 29 in a game that will not count in the conference standings.

An Oct. 7 game against Big South Conference member Kennesaw State will be the Tigers’ final nonconference game of the season before playing their final five conference games against Alabama State in Houston (Oct. 14), at Grambling State (Oct. 28), at Mississippi Valley State (Nov. 4) at home against Southern (Nov. 11) and at Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Nov. 18).
