Prairie View A&M 72, Alabama State 52

Prairie View, TX – Tevin Bellinger scored a career-high 27 points to go along with six rebounds and five assists as Prairie View A&M used a 16-2 run in the second half to win for the fifth time in their past six outings.

The Panthers (8-15, 5-4 SWAC) also received 16 points and six rebounds from Zachary Hamilton, who trailed by two briefly early in the second half before breaking it open.

Rodney Simeon scored 17 points for the Hornets (5-16, 3-6 SWAC).  Tony Armstrong had seven points and 10 rebounds while Terrance LeFlore chipped in with 13 points off the bench.

Grambling State 77, Mississippi Valley State 74 (OT)

Grambling, La. –Ervin Mitchell scored a game-high 24 points including the go-ahead bucket with 21 seconds remaining in overtime and Avery Ugba contributed with a double-double (17 points, 13 rebounds) as the Tigers won for the eighth time in nine games at the Fredrick C. Hobby Assembly Center this season.

Chase Cormier came away with a game-sealing steal with seven seconds left to help preserve the victory.

Remond Brown also had 15 points.

Marcus Romain had 18 points with most of his scoring coming from the charity stripe (11-of-16 from the free throw line) with nine rebounds and four assists for the Delta Devils (3-19, 3-6 SWAC).

Isaac Williams added 15 points, three steals and two blocks.

Jackson State 74, Arkansas-Pine Bluff 59

Jackson, Miss. – Yettra Specks had 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting with a team-high five assists while Edric Dennis added 16 points including 11-of-14 from the free throw line as the Tigers took a 16-point advantage into halftime before coasting to back-to-back victories.

Jackson State (9-13, 5-4 SWAC) exhibited another strong showing in shooting efficiency by making 51 percent of the shots from the field.

Trent Steen had 11 points and five rebounds for the Golden Lions (5-18, 4-5 SWAC).

Texas Southern 92, Alabama A&M 47

Houston, TX –Zach Lofton had 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting, seven rebounds and three assists and Demontrae Jefferson added 20 points off the bench on 8-of-11 shooting as the Tigers (12-10, 8-1 SWAC) rolled to a comfortable victory at the H&PE Arena.

TSU shot 51 percent from the field as a team and outrebounded AAMU 45-24.

Quinterian McConico scored 14 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field to lead the Bulldogs (1-19, 1-8 SWAC).
