Vote now for the 2016 HBCU Sports Band of the Year

Of the dozens upon dozens of HBCU marching bands that have performed with precision, style and a touch of flair throughout the 2016 marching season, we’ve managed to produce a list of five finalists that arguably did it better than everyone else.

But because there can only be one crowed HBCU Sports Band of the Year, it’s now time for you to make that decision with your vote.

Here are the five finalists for HBCU band of the year.

Alabama A&M

  • Ranked No. 6 in midseason poll of the top 15 HBCU marching bands in America
  • Declared winner by voters of halftime show vs. Prairie View A&M
  • Declared winner by voters of Magic City Classic halftime show
  • Ranked No. 4 on our list of top 20 cover songs of 2016 by HBCU bands
  • Ranked No. 4 on our list of top 10 halftime shows of 2016 by HBCU bands

Jackson State

  • Ranked No. 2 in midseason poll of the top HBCU marching bands in America
  • Declared winner by voters of 2016 Honda Battle of the Bands
  • Declared winner by voters of halftime show vs. Prairie View A&M
  • Received No. 1 and No. 3 rankings on our list of top 20 cover songs of 2016 by HBCU bands
  • Ranked No. 1 on our list of top 10 halftime shows of 2016 by HBCU bands

Miles College

  • Ranked No. 11 in midseason poll of the top 15 HBCU marching bands in America
  • Voted HBCU Sports Band of the Week (Week 9)
  • Received No. 2, No. 6 and No. 16 rankings on our list of top 20 cover songs of 2016 by HBCU bands
  • Ranked No. 10 on our list of top 10 halftime shows of 2016 by HBCU bands

North Carolina A&T

  • Ranked No. 5 in midseason poll of the top 15 HBCU marching bands in America
  • Ranked No. 10 on our list of top 20 cover songs of 2016 by HBCU bands
  • Ranked No. 5 on our list of top 10 halftime shows of 2016 by HBCU bands

Southern

  • Ranked No. 1 in midseason poll of the top 15 HBCU marching bands in America
  • Voted HBCU Sports Band of the Week (Week 7)
  • Voted HBCU Sports Band of the Week (Week 8)
  • Received No. 5, No. 8 and No. 11 rankings on our list of top 20 cover songs of 2016 by HBCU bands
  • Ranked No. 7 on our lost of top 10 halftime shows of 2016 by HBCU bands
