BALTIMORE – Another weekend, another 41-10 victory for Bethune-Cookman. This time, it was against Morgan State as Larry Brihm accounted for 297 yards and two touchdowns for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference victory at Hughes Stadium

The redshirt junior threw for 235 yards, including a 44-yard touchdown to Keavon Mitchell while rushing for 62 – 48 of those on a first-quarter touchdown that was his first running score of the year as the Wildcats (3-5 overall, 3-3 MEAC) won their third straight victory by matching last week’s final score against Delaware State.

To complete the all-around game, the Wildcat defense held the Bears (2-6, 2-4) to 125 yards passing and 32 on the ground. [easyazon_infoblock align=”right” cart=”y” identifier=”B017SZBNSC” locale=”US” tag=”hbcusports-20″]

Urial Hernandez converted field goal attempts of 23 and 25 yards while Jamaruz Thompkins’ 2-yard capped off a 10-play drive that helped the Wildcats build a 20-3 halftime lead.

Morgan State closed to 20-10 on Chris Andrews’ 17-yard run with 13:26 remaining in the third quarter, but the Wildcats answered with Tupac Isme’s 1-yarder five minutes later after Brandon Brooks’ 18-yard return of a shanked Morgan State punt gave the Wildcats the ball at the Bears 26.

Mitchell, who finished with four catches for 113 yards, caught his touchdown from Brihm and Jaime Wilson was on the receiving end of a 25-yarder from Akevious Williams in the fourth quarter.

Cameron Rigby rushed for 55 yards on 15 carries and caught three passes. Brihm’s 16 completions and Williams’ four were spread among nine different receivers, including Travares Copeland, who had four catches for 33 yards.

On defense, Kevin Thompson had two sacks, Anthony Myers one and Taivon Butler posted a fumble recovery.

The Wildcats are off next week, returning to action November 19 at the Florida Blue Florida Classic against Florida A&M at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
