Camp got underway Wednesday morning.

The players took a 5:30 a.m. run to start their first official day as Bulldogs. After meetings, the players will hit the field at 3 p.m. for the first of 29 practices leading up to the Sept. 3 season opener at Middle Tennessee State.

They will practice in just helmets and shorts Wednesday at 3 p.m. and Thursday at 10 a.m. and “shells” (helmets and shoulder pads) Friday and Saturday (3 p.m. both days). On Sunday at 3 p.m., they’ll work out in full pads for the first time. The practices are open to the public.

The Bulldogs have two-a-day practices Aug. 8, Aug. 10 and Aug. 15. They are in full pads at 10 a.m. and shells at 3:30 p.m. each day.

The first scrimmage is set for Aug. 13 at 9:50 a.m. The other scrimmages are Aug. 20 at 6:15 p.m. and Aug. 27 at 3 p.m. as part of Fan Day.
