NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk State’s Roger Hall was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Baseball Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Teammates Chase Anderson earned Rookie of the Week, while Devin Hemmerich was named Pitcher of the Week.

Hall (IF, 6-0, r-Jr., Chesapeake, Va.) went 7-for-15 (.467) with one double, one triple and three runs batted in, in four wins over William & Mary and Coppin State. Anderson (2B/3B/P, 5-9, Fr., Norfolk, Va.) recorded a .308 batting average (4-for-13), including one double, two runs scored and three RBIs, in four games against William & Mary and Coppin State. Defensively, he pitched one scoreless inning of relief, against Coppin State.

Hemmerich (LHP, 6-0, Jr., Norfolk, Va.) pitched seven scoreless innings, in a win over Coppin State. He scattered three hits and matched a season-high eight strikeouts.

Other Top Performers

Nathan Bond (B-CU) batted .600 in a series sweep of North Carolina Central.

Marlon Gibbs (FAMU) went 7-for-10 at the plate, in three games, against Savannah State.

Chase Jarrell (FAMU) scattered two hits, in 7.1 innings of relief, in a win over Savannah State.

Darnell Maisonet (DSU) registered one double and one run batted in against Rutgers.

Jordan Martin (UMES) finished with six hits, including two doubles, with one run, six runs batted in and one stolen base, in four games against Lehigh and Delaware State.

Zachary Marszal (NCCU) went 3-for-4, with one RBI, against Bethune-Cookman.

Willis McDaniel (FAMU) finished with three hits, including one two-run double, three runs scored and two RBIs, in two games against Savannah State.

Sean McGrath (DSU) allowed only one hit, in five innings pitched, in a 4-2 win over Maryland Eastern Shore.

Nazier McILwain (CSU) recorded one hit in each of the four games against Mount St. Mary’s and Norfolk State.

Devin Repine (UMES) posted four strikeouts and allowed just three hits, in four games against Lehigh and Delaware State.

Danny Rodriguez (B-CU) hit two walk-off singles in a series sweep of North Carolina Central.

Alex Seibold (B-CU) did not allow a hit in 3.0 innings pitched, in two games against North Carolina Central.

Thomas Summers (UMES) belted one home run in a 7-6 win over Lehigh.

Andrew Vernon (NCCU) notched a 2.57 ERA, with eight strikeouts, against Bethune-Cookman.
