BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alcorn State’s Norianna Haynes and Grambling State’s Shakyla Hill have been recognized by the Southwestern Athletic Conference as Women’s Basketball Co-Players of the Week for their outstanding performance in competition during February 10-16.

Haynes managed a two game, double-double performance this past week as she led the Lady Braves past Mississippi Valley State (75-39) and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (81-53).
In the victory over the Devilettes, Haynes registered 22 points and grabbed 14 boards. The following game she scored 21 points and 10 rebounds.
ALCN is now on a three-game winning streak – its longest this season.

Hill paced the Lady Tigers in the 49-46 win over the number one team in the Conference, Texas Southern. During the game, she put up 13 points, 10 rebounds and two assists. This performance marked Hill’s second double-double of the season.
Hill made six of her 13 shot attempts while going 100 percent at the line.
Earlier in the week, Hill led her team over Prairie View A&M (51-44), going 6-for-10 from the field, netting one three-pointer and shooting 100 percent at the free throw line.
