NORFOLK, Va. — Cedric Blossom of Morgan State was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Alex Long, of Norfolk State, earned Rookie of the Week honors, while South Carolina State’s Daryll Palmer was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Blossom (F, 6-6, 230, Sr., Columbia, Md.) shot 60-percent from the floor (6-of-10) and 78-percent (7-of-9) from the charity stripe for 19 points in an 83-63 win over Howard. He finished with five rebounds, one assist and four steals, in 36 minutes of play.
Long (F, 6-8, 220, Fr., Clinton, Md.) totaled 13 points, 14 rebounds, three assists and six blocks, against Savannah State and Hampton. He recorded a career-high nine rebounds in a 92-73 win over Savannah State.
Palmer (F/C, 6-8, Sr., Summerville, S.C.) finished with 18 rebounds, eight blocks and one steal, in wins against Hampton and Delaware State. Offensively, he registered a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds, including three assists, four blocks and one steal, in the 56-41 victory over Delaware State.

Craig Bowman (FAMU) tallied 19 points, eight rebounds, three assists and one steal against Bethune-Cookman
Eric Eaves (SCSU) totaled 38 points, seven rebounds, two assists and one steal, in wins over Hampton and Delaware State.
Terry Harris, Jr. (CSU) recorded a double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds in an overtime loss to Maryland Eastern Shore.
Reginald Johnson, Jr. (HAM) poured in 29 points, including four rebounds, five assists and one steal, in the 86-76 win over Norfolk State.
Rashaun Madison (NCCU) scored 18 points, with four 3-pointers, against Delaware State.
Jordan Potts (B-CU) averaged 18.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists, and 0.5 steals against Howard and Florida A&M.
Jeff Short (NSU) topped his 1,000-career point, on 8-of-16 shooting, for 23 points against Hampton.
