NEW ORLEANS ( – Edward Waters College guard Kyeshia Dawkins has been named GCAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Jan. 10 – Jan. 16.

Brooks, a junior from Columbia,S.C., averaged 19 points, 5.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists, and 2.0 steals for the Lady Tigers in conference wins over Tougaloo and Philander Smith.

Against Philander Smith she scored 25 points – her eighth game of 20 or more this season – while handing out a career-high nine assists.  Dawkins leads the GCAC and ranks fourth nationally, scoring 20.3 points per game.

This is her second career Player of the Week award.
