BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Grambling State quarterback Johnathan Williams, Jackson State defensive end Javancy Jones, Alcorn State wide receiver Marquis Warford and Alabama A&M quarterback DeAngelo Ballard Richardson have been recognized by the Southwestern Athletic Conference for their outstanding performances during action on Nov. 28.
Offensive Player of the Week
Johnathan Williams

QB – Sr. – 5-11 – 185 – Tampa, Fla.
Williams led Grambling to a come-from-behind win over Southern in the Bayou Classic when he threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns on 20-of-34 passing. In the 34-23 victory, Williams also rushed for 78 yards and another score on the ground. Williams now has 38 touchdown passes on the season, which leads the FCS.

DE – Jr. – 6-2 – 230 – Macon, Miss.
Jones stuffed the stat sheet to the tune of 16 total stops (five solo) and 3.5 tackles for loss in a 14-10 loss to Alcorn State. Jones also had one sack and forced two fumbles. The junior leads the nation in stops behind the line of scrimmage with 25.5 on the season. This is the second defensive player of the week nod for Jones this year.

Warford delivered a 94-yard kick return touchdown for the Braves in their 14-10 victory over Jackson State. The redshirt junior accounted for 165 total yards of offense on the day and hauled in five grabs for 61 yards during the game as well.

QB – Jr. – 6-0 – 200 – Macon, Miss.
Ballard accounted for 320 yards of total offense and three total scores in Alabama A&M’s 38-7 victory over Texas Southern. Ballard went 15-of-22 for 251 yards and two touchdowns, and he rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown as well.
