NORFOLK, Va.– Bethune-Cookman quarterback Quentin Williams was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced today.  South Carolina State’s Javon Hargrave earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.

N.C. Central’s Dorrell McClain earned Rookie of the Week honors while B-CU’s Dariusz Bladek was selected as the Offensive Lineman of the Week. South Carolina State’s Tevin Richard was named the Special Teams Player of the Week.

Williams (QB, 5-11, 209, r-Sr., Tampa, Fla.) connected on 20-of-29 passes for 386 yards with four touchdowns.  He also rushed for another touchdown on 12 attempts for 39 yards on the ground.  He became the first Bethune-Cookman student-athlete to collect over 400 yards of total offense since 2004, falling short of tying the record by one yard (426 yards).

Hargrave (DL, 6-2, 310, Sr., Salisbury, N.C.) finished with eight tackles, six solo, with four tackles for a loss of 24 yards including three sacks.  He also forced a fumble in the Bulldogs’ 34-7 victory over Delaware State.

McClain (RB, 5-10, 190, r-Fr., Cary, N.C.) rushed for 113 yards with two touchdowns, on 20 attempts, in a win over Morgan State.

Bladek (QL, 6-4, 329, Sr., Kissimmee, Fla.) graded out at 95-percent of his blocking assignments as the Wildcats’ recorded 607 yards of total offense in a 59-49 win over Norfolk State.  Also, he finished with five pancake blocks.

Richard (LB, 5-11, 200, r-Sr., Georgetown, S.C.) blocked two punts in a 34-7 win over Delaware State.  Defensively, he added two forced two fumbles, one he returned for a 10-yard touchdown. Also, he collected five tackles and broke up one pass in the win.

Other Top Performers

Trenton Bridges (BCU) posted 11 tackles, nine solo, with one forced fumble in a 59-49 win over Norfolk State.

Tarik Cohen (NCAT) rushed for 137 yards on 17 attempts with three touchdowns in a win over Howard.

Jalen Day (HOW) collected a team-high 10 tackles, four for losses, against N.C. A&T State.

Khris Gardin (NCAT) returned four punts for 167 yards with a long of 82-yards against Howard.

Greg Hankerson, Jr. (NSU) registered 97 rushing yards and 363 yards of total offense, with four passing TDs, against Bethune-Cookman.

Uriel Hernandez (BCU) hit eight extra point attempts and recorded a 30-yard field goal in the Wildcats’ win over Norfolk State.

Deion Jones (NCAT) forced a fumble and collected nine tackles, four solo, with three for a loss against Howard.

Guy Lemonier (HOW) returned three kickoffs for 123 yards, including a career-best 89 yarder, against N.C. A&T State.

Nigel Macauley (NCCU) nailed two field goals of 47 and 30 yards out and registered extra-point kicks for eight points in a win over Morgan State.

Brandon Parker (NCAT) finished with six knockdown blocks and graded out at 80-percent of his blocking assignments in a 65-14 win over Howard.
Gabe Sherrod (DSU) recorded seven tackles, four solo, with 3.5 for a loss and two hurries against S.C. State.

Darius Spruill (NCCU) finished with five tackles and collected 2.5 tackles for a loss with 1.5 sacks, while adding a forced fumble and a fumble recovery, in a win over Morgan State.

TaQuan West (SCSU) caught nine passes for 113 yards in a win over Delaware State.
Caleb York (SCSU) completed 17-of-28 passes for 241 yards, including two touchdowns, against Delaware State.
