As the Alabama A&M Bulldogs prepare for their Sept. 5 season opener at Cincinnati against the Bearcats, UC head football coach Tommy Tuberville held a press conference on Tuesday to take questions from the media.

Tuberville’s comments about Alabama A&M:

“We have Alabama A&M coming, and I don’t know what to expect., Amost all of their defense is back. They didn’t have a great season last year, but they lost four or five games by a total of about 15 points. Their coach is organized and understands what he wants to do. He is looking for a quarterback, so it will be like one of those weeks when roll the dice to prepare for what they are going to do.”

Tubberville on what he wants to get out of the game:

“We are taking it the same way as we take it every game. I’m fired up and I mean, not to underestimate our opponent but Alabama A&M is a great team. They are very explosive and very athletic. We need to go out there and be explosive and do the little things and just focus on us. One thing we really need to do is come out at halftime and get fired up. Because a lot of the times last year we really struggled in the third quarter to come out and be explosive and do the little things. So, this year we need to come out and play our game and just be in control of what we can control. Just got out there and compete all four quarters.”

Alabama A&M head coach James Spady announced that junior college transfer De’Angelo Ballard would be his starting quarterback for the game.
