Former Florida A&M assistant baseball coach Brett Richardson has been named head coach at Alcorn State.
Richardson comes to Alcorn State after spending 19 years on the baseball coaching staff at Florida A&M.
After spending five seasons as an assistant baseball coach at Tallahassee Lincoln High School from 1992 to 1997, Richardson returned to FAMU to begin his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant under head coach Joe Durant in 1998.
Richardson eventually was promoted to full-time status in 2000, combining the duties of pitching coach and recruiting coordinator, with his various responsibilities as an assistant coach.
