Charlotte, N.C. –Johnson C. Smith University head track and field coach Lennox Graham has been named an assistant coach for the Jamaican National Track & Field Team that will participate in the 2015 IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China from August 22-30.
Graham said that the opportunity is one that will place JCSU track and field on the international stage. “I will be working to enhance the global image of JCSU track and field in an effort to continue attracting high quality talented student athletes to our university,” said Graham.
While in China, Graham also cited that he will get the chance to participate in networking opportunities with other high profile coaches and administrators from all over the world. Those networking sessions, Graham says, will undoubtedly raise the profile of the JCSU track and field program, and the entire JCSU athletics program.
Graham will also be able to coach three JCSU alumni in Leford Green (400m hurdles) and both Danielle Williams and Shermaine Williams in the 100m hurdles.
The 2015 IAAF World Championships will be held August 22-30 at Beijing’s National Stadium, also known as the Birds Nest Stadium. The venue also hosted the track and field events as well as the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games.
