The SWAC announced on Wednesday the roster of coaches and players who will speak in cliches and guarded language during SWAC Media Day next month.
The list of attendees will be made up of each head coach accompanied by a standout player or two.
There will quarterbacks, linebackers, running backs, a few defensive players and one kicker.
An actual kicker. They’re football players, too… I guess.
Heading down to Birmingham, Alabama on July 17 with Jackson State head coach Harold Jackson and linebacker Teddrick Terrell will be placekicker Ryan Deising.
Yeah, one of the stars of the team! Yay!
Deising made each of his 32 PATs, and was 78 percent on field goal opportunities in 2014.
I think it’s refreshing that a kicker will be at SWAC Media Day because kickers are quirky fellows whose value is only measured by how often they knock the ball through the uprights.
Deising will be living every kickers dream. The stories he’s been holding onto. The tales he has been waiting to tell.
He’s gonna stunt so hard being the center of attention.
There’s going to be a lot of “Well, I’m glad you asked” from Deising.
Expect gems, boys. Lots of them.
