Senior center fielder Lance Jones was selected in the 36th round by the Toronto Blue Jays Wednesday during the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft.
Jones, a two-year letterman for the Jaguar baseball program, joins nine players from the Southwestern Athletic Conference who have been selected since the draft began Monday evening.
During his two-year career at Southern after tranferring from Bossier City Community College, Jones posted a .327 batting average and finished his career with 68 hits, 14 doubles and one homerun in 60 games played.
The Benton, La. native added 34 RBIs and went 26-31 on stolen bases.
