EUGENE, Ore. – The Alabama State Hornets and the Prairie View A&M Panthers are all set to represent the Southwestern Athletic Conference at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships starting Wednesday. Hayward Field located on the campus of the University of Oregon is the host site June 10-13.
The NCAA will start a new format this season as the men’s events will take place Wednesday and Friday while women’s events will be on Thursday and Saturday. Michael Prejean (PVAMU) will compete in the 110 meter hurdles and the 400 meter hurdles.
Santina Williams will get the action started for ASU Thursday evening with her appearance in the 400 meter dash. In the final event of the, the 4x400m relay, Williams will join Tatiana Etienne, Alexis Ferebeeand Kimberly Wedderburn on the track looking to move into Saturday’s finals.
Prejean is the second straight athlete from Prairie View to compete for a national championship. This is the first ever trip to nationals for ASU’s 4×400 meter relay team.
The ESPN family of networks is scheduled to carry the Championships. ESPNU will carry the first day’s events on Wednesday beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday ESPNU will carry all of the action from 7-8:30 p.m. with ESPN set to show replays of the day’s action from 8:30 -10:30 p.m.

I taught Prejean in high school. Quiet young man from humble origins. Went against the grain in my band a few times, but always has been a good kid. Didn’t know he was THAT good on the track. And the fact that he is representing my alma mater makes me even more proud. Good Luck Michael.
