MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Alabama State University swept Alcorn State University, 12-0, during the final day of a three-game series, Saturday afternoon at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex.

The Hornets, in a nationally televised game on ESPNU, claimed eight runs in the first inning and four in the second.

Neither team would score again for the duration of the game. Due to the rune-rule, the match ended in the fifth frame.

Two Hornets shared the mound with three strikeouts and five forced outs.

Kendall Core and Brittney Wilson led with a game-high two runs. Braves, Alexandria Harris and Sametria Collins shared a game-high count with Jazzmin Romero, collecting two hits.
