Bruce Beckford, the leading scorer for the North Carolina A&T basketball team, is recovering after he was stabbed during a campus dispute.
Beckford was stabbed about 3 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot near a campus residence hall, according to the The News & Record.
An argument between the victim and another man broke out in the parking lot of Pride Hall, Richey said. The argument turned violent, and the suspect stabbed the victim in the parking lot on Benbow Road, the newspaper reported.
Beckford was transported to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Beckford, a junior forward, averaged 15. 1 points per game, 7.3 rebounds this past season.
