TROY, Ala. – Down 3-2 heading into the top of the ninth, Alabama State scored seven runs to pull out the 9-3 comeback win on the road at Troy Tuesday.
Shortstop P.J. Biocic doubled down the left field line with bases loaded and one out on the board to knock in the game winning run.
Biocic went 3-for-5 at the plate with two runs and two RBI. Reigning player of the week Yamil Pagan also finished with three hits, recording one run and one RBI of his own, respectively. Charles Taylor picked up the win for the Hornets. He is now 1-2 on the year.
SOUTHERN def. McNeese State, 5-4
LAKE CHARLES, La. – Southern increased its win streak to four Tuesday night after defeating McNeese State 5-4 at Cowboy Diamond. Southern scored all five runs in the first four innings while shutting McNeese down.
The Jaguar bullpen gave up only four hits in the first six innings. Jose DeLa Torre led Southern, going 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI. DeLa Torre hit a homer to left field in his first appearance.
Starter Harold Myles went 3.1 innings and tied for the game-high of four strikeouts.
