Three teams from the SIAC made are among the field of 64 teams that will compete in the 2015 NCAA Division II Tournament.

Albany State (19-5) received the SIAC’s automatic bid with Benedict (23-6) and Kentucky State (22-5) landing at-large bids in the South Region.

The teams will travel to Jackson, Tenn. to begin play starting on Friday, March 13, at region host Union’s Fred Delay Gymnasium.

No. 8 seeded Lady Rams make their seventh appearance including back-to-back while holding a 2-6 record in the tourney. They will face the No. 1 seed in the region and GSC Champions Union (26-3). The Thorobrettes, the No. 7 seed, will face No. 2 seed Nova Southeastern (24-5) with three appearances and first since 2008.

Benedict received the highest seed of the SIAC teams in the tournament and will match-up with No. 4 seed West Florida (19-8). The start times for the contest has yet to be set. The Lady Tigers land its fifth trip and a back-to-back appearance.

First-round games will be played March 13, semifinal games March 14 and the regional championship will be played March 16. The regional champions will advance to the NCAA Women’s Elite Eight March 24, 25 and 27 at Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
