NORFOLK, Va. – Former Norfolk State center Brandon Goode recently signed a professional contract to play for BK Barsy Atyrau in Kazakhstan. He will join the first-place team in time for the playoffs in the Kazakhstan-Higher League.

Goode completed his four-year NSU career in 2014. He earned third-team All-MEAC honors as a senior when he posted 11.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game while shooting better than 61 percent overall. For his career, He tallied 679 points, 458 rebounds and 160 blocks with a career shooting percentage of 59.7. He ranks second all-time at NSU in blocks.

The 7-foot-0, 235-pound Goode was also drafted by the Delaware 87ers of the NBA Development League last November, taken in the sixth round with the 91st overall selection by the Philadelphia 76ers D-League affiliate.

A native of the Bronx, N.Y., Goode is now the fourth different former Spartan currently competing overseas. He joins Michael Deloach and Pendarvis Williams (Italy) and Malcolm Hawkins (Lithuania) in extending his basketball career.
