Former Tennessee State standout and NBA All-Star Anthony Mason died early Saturday.
Mason, 48, had been battling congestive heart failure and recently underwent multiple heart surgeries after suffering a massive heart attack earlier this month.
Mason, who was drafted in the third round of the 1988 NBA Draft by the Portland Trailblazers out of Tennessee State, won the NBA’s Sixth Man Award in 1995 as a member of the New York Knicks.
He also played 13 seasons in the NBA with the Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat
