JACKSON, Miss. – St. Louis University defeated Jackson State University, 9-8, Thursday afternoon at the JSU Softball Complex.
The Billikens took to the bats first as Jackson State allowed one run in the first and two scores in the second inning. From there, each team shared a presence on the score board, adding points with each inning. The Tigers would gain their largest point ranges in the fifth and seventh innings – registering three runs for a total of six points. Unfortunately, Jackson State gave away one run too many as St. Louis moved on to victory.
The pitching mound was shared by two Tigers who threw a total of five strikeouts and four forced outs. While facing 42 batters, the two only allowed seven hits. The Tigers gathered a total of 10 runs with six RBIs and 11 assists.
