PINE BLUFF, Ark. – In a game that was originally scheduled for Monday night, but was postponed because of inclement weather, JoVaughn Love scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds off the bench to help lead Arkansas-Pine Bluff, to a 74-70 victory over Alcorn State on Tuesday night.
Tevin Hammond finished with 13 points for Arkansas-Pine Bluff (9-18, 6-7). Thaddeus Handley added 12, and Trent Whiting had 10 capping four Golden Lions with double figures.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff won despite being without leading scorer Marcel Mosley.
Leantwan Luckett scored 21 points to lead Alcorn State (5-20, 4-9), which has lost back to back games and seven of its last eight. Reginald Johnson added 16 points and Michael Davis had 10 for the Braves, which led 26-21 at halftime and opened up a double digit lead early in the second, but Arkansas-Pine Bluff battled back, scoring 53 points in the final period.
