Funeral arrangements are set for Alabama A&M assistant men’s basketball coach James Wright who unexpectedly died last week.
Services will be noon Wednesday at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 1329 Avenue G in Birmingham, according to the school.
Wright died last Wednesday at his home. He was 46.
Wright, who was nicknamed “The Recruiting Machine,” was in his fourth year as an assistant coach with the Bulldogs.
He also served as the coach, president and general manager of the AAU basketball team Rise & Shine from 1993-2004.
The longtime basketball man played on the Jackson State basketball team in the early 1990s, with former NBA player Lindsey Hunter.
