COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Sorone Batiste and Michael Prejean finished at the top of the pack as PVAMU participated in the Aggie 13-Team Invitational at Texas A&M.
Batiste ran the 800-meter dash in a time of 1:53.44 to win first place as he won the event for the second time in three seasons. The Humble, Texas native also won the 800 in 2013 in College Station.
After finishing third in the preliminary round, Prejean bounced back with a bang as he won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.87. Like Batiste, Prejean is a two-time winner in the event as he won first place in 2014.
The mile relay team of Fard Rollock, Prejean, Darwin Allen and Batiste finished second in the mile relay as they ran a time of 3:16.73. Keon Campbell earned a spot in the finals of the 60-meter dash an placed sixth (7.02).
The Panthers are back in action on Jan. 30 at the Howie Ryan Invitational on the University of Houston campus.
