Florida A&M is a bad basketball team.

It took Rattlers head coach Byron Samuels being on the losing side of the last 14 outings to come to that realization.

FAMU, which is currently in the midst of the longest losing streak in school history, lost to Jacksonville University 79-56 Tuesday night.

“This is probably the first time I’ve had to say this — and I regret even having to say this — but I was disappointed in our effort tonight,” Samuels told the Tallahassee Democrat after the game.

“Through 13 games our guys fought and gave great effort from start to finish. I thought the effort was average at best. I’m disappointed for the students, for the fans and this community. Those who came out in support of us tonight. It just was a disappointing effort from start to finish.”

The Rattlers (0-14, 0-1 MEAC) last regular season win happened March 3, 2014 at Morgan State.

FAMU will complete their three-game homestand against  take on the Norfolk State  (9-8) and Hampton (6-8).

“I’m not feeling any pressure to win that one game,” Samuels said.
