HOUSTON, Texas – It was a very special day for Alcorn State quarterback John Gibbs, Jr. and the Alcorn The City of Houston proclaimed Dec. 16 John Gibbs, Jr. Day at the Houston City Hall for his awards and accomplishments in helping the Braves capture the 2014 SWAC championship.
Gibbs, a junior, is a Houston native and graduate of Booker T. Washington High School.
He was named the 2014 SWAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year and earned a spot on the first All-SWAC 1st team. He was also recently named the Boxtorow Player of the Year.
