THE FORECAST
Southern versus Grambling State
This game will actually mean something for the first time in a number of years. A trip to the SWAC championship game will be on the line Saturday.
Grambling is having a magical season. Too bad their sorcery will run out against a streaking Southern bunch.
Southern 31, Grambling 23
Virginia State versus Bloomsburg University
I don’t know anything about Bloomsburg. I can only assume they’re good enough to be in the second round of the Division II playoffs. What I do know about Virginia State is they played well enough to top unbeatable Winston-Salem State and then drop LIU in the postseason opener.
Virginia State 21, Bloomsburg University 16
Morgan State versus Richmond
Morgan State has waited 35 years to play a Richmond team that has won the FCS national championship in the 21st Century.
MEAC schools have not won a playoff game since 1999. Bad combination for a squad who we don’t even know is the MEAC’s best.
Richmond 34, Morgan State 20
