2014 BOXTOROW FCS HBCU Football Coaches Poll
Week 11

The top six teams in the BOXTOROW Coaches and Media Polls all won and North Carolina A&T remained atop each poll.

The Aggies are coming off an impressive 45-0 victory over Morgan State.

In the coaches poll, N.C. A&T received 17 of 20 first-place votes.  Alcorn State continues to trail N.C. A&T, but once again received two first-place votes.  The Braves clinched the SWAC Eastern Division with a 41-14 victory over Alabama A&M.

Bethune-Cookman received the other first-place vote and moved into the No. 4 spot tied with Grambling State.  The bottom four teams in last week’s poll all lost. Texas Southern and Morgan State survived dropping out, coming in at No. 9 and No. 10 this week, with No. 7 Alabama State and No. 8 North Carolina Central both winning and reentering the poll.

Virginia State has won eight-straight and has moved into the media poll for the first time this year at No. 10.  The Trojans defeated Virginia Union 33-12 to win the CIAA Eastern Division. The other nine teams remained the same from last week.

Two conference championships will be decided this week as Albany State will face off against Tuskegee in the SIAC championship game on Saturday in Montgomery, Ala., while Virginia State and Winston-Salem State will play for the CIAA championship in Durham, N.C.

The BOXTOROW HBCU FCS coaches and media polls are administered by FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW.  The coaches poll is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches and the media poll is voted on by media members around the country who cover HBCU football.
