With four weeks remaining in the regular season, the race for the MEAC championship is up for grabs.
Heading into Week 10, nine of the 11 teams are within two games of first place in the conference.
North Carolina A&T at 4-1 is the just one-half game ahead of Bethune-Cookman, South Carolina State, Morgan State, North Carolina Central and Norfolk State in the MEAC standings. The cluster of teams share a 3-1 record.
Florida A&M, who lost Saturday to North Carolina A&T, is 2-2, followed by Delaware State (2-3) and Hampton (1-3).
NCCU and B-CU will play for a share of the top spot when they square off in Dayton Beach. Morgan State versus Hampton and Norfolk State versus FAMU will also have possible conference championship implications on Saturday.
It will be tough to handicap the the races, as all the contenders play each other once down the stretch.
If South Carolina State pulling off the upset over No. 4 Bethune-Cookman is any indication of things to come, the fight for MEAC supremacy will be an unpredictable one.
