Bethune-Cookman, Winston-Salem State Maintain No.1 Rankings In HBCU Fan Polls

SWAC Baseball Tournament, Day 3: Alabama State, Grambling State both facing elimination rounds

Once again the Bethune Cookmam Wildcats and Winston-Salem State Rams hold the No. 1 rankings in the HBCU Sports FCS and Division II fan polls.

The Wildcats (6-1) maintained the top spot with 169 points and 11 first-place votes, followed by Grambling (5-3), who moved up a notch to take the No.2 spot with 153 points and 4 first-place votes.  Alcorn State (6-2) was third, followed by North Carolina A&T (6-2) and South Carolina State (4-3) to round off the top five.

Alabama State (4-3), coming off an open week, moved up to the No. 6 spot, followed by Morgan State (4-3), Tennessee State (4-4), Southern (4-3) and Texas Southern (5-2).

The Rams (6-1), fresh off of a 36-13 homecoming win over St. Augustine’s, maintain the top spot in the Division II fan poll with 109 points and 10 first-place votes.  Tuskegee (6-2) moved up to the No. 2 spot, followed by Virginia State (5-2), Virginia Union (6-1) and with Albany State (4-2) and Fort Valley State (5-2) both tied at No. 5.

Livingstone (5-2) moved up to the No. 7 spot, followed by Miles (4-3), Stillman (4-3) and Morehouse (4-3).

The HBCU Sports Fan Poll, conducted weekly throughout the regular season, gives fans the chance to vote for their top 10 HBCU teams at the FCS and Division II levels.
