Alcorn State managed to stay the No.1 ranked team for the second consecutive week in this week’s HBCU Sports FCS Fan Poll, while Winston-Salem State continued its top ranking in the Division II Fan Poll.
The polls, conducted weekly during the football season, give the fans the opportunity to vote for their top 10 HBCU teams at the FCS and Division II levels.
The Braves (5-1) garnered 27-first place votes followed by Bethune-Cookman (4-1) with seven-first place votes to take the No. 2 spot. South Carolina State (4-2), Grambling (3-3) and Alabama State complete the top five spots. Tennessee State dropped two spots to No. 6 after losing Saturday to Southeast Missouri. North Carolina A&T (4-2), Texas Southern (5-1), Southern (3-3) and Morgan State (3-3) complete the top 10.
The Rams (4-1) received 9-first place votes in the Division II fan poll, followed by Tuskegee (3-2), Virginia State (3-2), Morehouse (4-1), Livingstone (4-1), Virginia Union (4-1), Albany State (2-2), Fort Valley State (3-2), Elizabeth City State (2-3) and Stillman (3-2).
