Former Alabama State running back Isaiah Crowell will be part of the Cleveland Browns 53-man roster this season, the team announced Monday.
An undrafted rookie, Crowell rushed for 102 yards Cleveland’s final preseason game against the Chicago Bears last Thursday.
In the team’s first three games, Crowell had just three attempts for two yards.
He is expected to be the backup running back behind projected starter Ben Tate.
In 12 games last season at Alabama State, Crowell rushed for 1,126 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Crowell transferred to Alabama State from Georgia after his freshman season, where he earned SWAC Newcomer of the Year in 2012.
