The defending SWAC champions are reloading.
Texas Southern head coach Mike Davis added former Marshall guard Chris Thomas, one-time Nebraska player Deverell Biggs, Long Beach State transfer Nick Shepherd and Creighton transfer Nevin Johnson.
Thomas, who will enter the Texas Southern as a junior, averaged 12.7 points and 4.0 rebounds before he was dismissed from Marshall in June for violating team rules. He was dismissed from Marshall in June for a violation of team rules.
Biggs also lands at Texas Southern after he was dismissed from the Cornhuskers program for off the field troubles. Biggs averaged just under 10 points per game last season.
Shepherd, a 6-9 forward, was a rotation player at Long Beach State in three years there.
With these additions to go along with key returners, Texas Southern has positioned themselves to make another run at the conference championship.
