Texas Southern is reportedly close to signing former Texas A&M all-SEC freshman Darian Claiborne.
According to media reports, Claiborne, who was dismissed from Texas A&M in June after several arrests, will enroll at Texas Southern next week, where he will be immediately eligible to compete.
Claiborne was named to the SEC’s all-freshman team and led the Aggies in tackles as a true freshman in the regular season, recording 89 tackles with seven tackles for loss.
“Texas Southern has talked with him, and they’re committed to helping Darian get his life back together,” Port Allen High School (La.) coach Guy Blanchard told The Advocate. “We’re glad he’s getting this opportunity to prove himself.”
