The SWAC East favorite Alabama State Hornets strapped on the pads for the first time during fall camp in a pair of grueling practices Thursday.
“Really having to fight through the fatigue,” Head Coach Reggie Barlow said. “They have to overcome the mindset. We know it is hot out here and we are going to push the guys. It is still about on-going skill development and we’re still imputing our system. We want the guys to retain the information we are giving them as they fight through the dog days of camp and continue to get better.”
The Hornets will be back in action for only one practice tomorrow as they continue preparing for the camp’s first scrimmage. Friday’s practice will be at 3 p.m. while Saturday’s scrimmage is set for a 9 a.m. start.
